Litigation Legal Assistant | San Diego | $85K-$105K DOE + Primarily Onsite (4:1)

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced litigation legal assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and is comfortable managing multiple priorities with precision and strong attention to detail. You will support a litigation practice handling matters across state, federal, and appellate courts. The role involves coordinating case activity, managing attorney schedules, preparing court filings, and assisting through all phases of the litigation lifecycle, including trial preparation.

  • Compensation: $85,000 - $105,000 per year, depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Draft, format, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence for litigation matters
  • File documents electronically in state, federal, and appellate courts in accordance with court rules and deadlines
  • Prepare TOC and TAC and assist with discovery shells and case materials
  • Support trial preparation and trial proceedings, including coordination of materials and logistics
  • Manage attorney calendars, including court deadlines, filings, and case milestones
  • Coordinate communication with attorneys, court personnel, clients, and outside parties
  • Organize and maintain case files and oversee document management systems such as iManage or similar
  • Proofread, edit, and redline documents with a high level of accuracy
  • Monitor deadlines and proactively follow up to ensure timely completion across multiple matters

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of California litigation experience
  • Strong understanding of court procedures, filing requirements, and deadlines across state, federal, and appellate courts
  • Experience handling e-filing, trial prep, and the full litigation lifecycle
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) and document management systems (iManage or similar)
  • Familiarity with CompuLaw, Best Authority, Adobe Pro, and CCC Macros is a plus
  • Excellent proofreading, formatting, and writing skills
  • Highly organized with strong calendaring and follow-up abilities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
